Long but honest... I hate going to the dentist! I went to a new place in Powdersville recently, and it confirmed my disbelief and trust in some dentists. They told me I had eight cavities and it would probably take two trips to fill them all. Fast forward to this week when I was in pain and needing a wisdom tooth removed. I had Dr. Tavernier remove one three years ago, but I had not been back since. Nonetheless, I called them and they worked me in the next day. I was in and out in less than an hour, and he even took X-Rays to check on my “cavities”. Contrary to the other place, he only saw two and explained to me what he saw and the appropriate action we needed to take, which was to wait and watch. Meanwhile, the other place was quick to numb and drill 8 places. Even though it had been so long, I felt like a valued patient, and I’d trust Dr. Tavernier and his team with anything that needed to be done. I live in Greenville, and I’ll drive the extra mileage every single time to go back just for the trust and comfort that has been developed.

Dr. Tavernier fitted me with a new crown in one visit. He invited me to his in-house lab to see my “tooth” created by robotics. While he drilled he sang country tunes. I recommend the karaoke dentist!!

Dr. Owings was my dentist for nearly 15 years but is winding down now and only rarely works these days. There's a new dentist taking over the practice who's probably just fine. However, I recently had a tooth bothering me and called for an appointment. They said they were booked and couldn't work me in for at least a month. Since they couldn't work in a long-time patient in dental pain, I decided it was time to move on. But I will always love Dr. Owings. Thank you for the many years for excellent service and friendship!
