This is that...

A place where we Honor Our Presence Encounter. Come expecting to meet God, leave behind any preconceived ideals of what church is. This is not religion, it's relationship.

#newage&liberalnMy wife and I were part of Hope Chapel for 3 months. We were so excited to be part of a Spirit-Filled Church like this. I have heard a lot of good preachers, but Damon Thompson sure had a way of putting things. However, we can no longer be part of Hope Chapel or Damon Thompson Ministries, even with all the seemingly great things the church has going for it. There have been some concerns on our part from multiple things that have been said, but what was the dividing line was Johnson telling me that he is “liberal” and does not believe in the “inerrancy of Scripture.” Bible translation errors are one thing, but throwing out original Scripture depending on your own wim is a completely different thing. Damon does not believe in inerrancy either from what he said in the February revival meeting. I challenge people like this that once you get off of the foundation of God's perfect Word there is no way to measure what is being said as truth or error. Johnson has not responded to any of my emails about what he even believes (and I did talk to him respectfully and let him know that I'll be sending him some). No response from Damon either. I listened to Johnson's last message online and it was the most New Age message I have ever heard in a church. He even said he had been looking at New Age websites that week and “we must open our 3rd eye” as well as tap into the energy of the earth. (Definition of 3rd eye - the locus of occult power and wisdom in the forehead of a deity, especially the god Shiva the “eye of insight” located in the forehead.) This is completely demonic. Without knowing what Jesus and Apostles said and meant via the Scriptures there is no standard for truth. So what is taught and believed from the Hope Chapel leadership, even foundational doctrine, is now fair game because the leadership does not believe in all the Scripture anyway. I wonder what they do or will (as their ideas ‘progress’) believe about the virgin birth, Jesus being the only way, salvation by grace through faith or what is really sinful? Who knows, they won't even talk to me about these questions, which says a lot to me. A little leaven leavens the whole lump. I'm very concerned for Hope Chapel and Damon Thompson Ministries. What a sad end. I was so sad because I was so hoping this church was something great. I hope people ask some very real questions and consider these things.nnNote: I have nothing to gain in writing this and I am not at all anti-Charismatic. I was raised in the Evangelical Church, went to Columbia Bible College, Baptised in the Holy Spirit half way through college, and have always hungered for the Spirit to move in traditional churches. That's why I was at Hope Chapel. But as a believer and minister I must raise the alarm when a place like this teaches New Age and does not believe in all of Scripture.

Wonderful place to experience the presence of the Lord. Atmosphere is full of the Holy Spirit. Place is full of devotional people looking to praise God in the way He desires and finds pleasing in the wilderness.
