It’s nice to have a gym in the area, and the equipment is enough to get the job done. But I must say, I often feel pressured to leave 30 minutes before the actual closing time; as the staff starts cleaning equipment and turning off lights relatively early. I will often greet staff members upon arriving with a simple “hey how are you” to which they will often not respond. This place has great potential, but the staff needs to be briefed on the simple concepts of customer service.
I had to leave a review after seeing a couple of bad ones. I won't be in Alva for long, but one of the highlights of this small town is the fact that there's a fully equipped gym. The equipment is in good shape, repairs are made quickly, and the staff is helpful and courteous.nnThe staff does clean the machines 30 minutes before closing. But if they didn't hit the unused machines before closing time, they'd be on the clock for another 30 minutes. There are no sideways glances or comments to hurry people out the door. Actually it's the opposite. I've had a staffer tell me not to rush because she's cleaning. If you've ever been to a gym in any large city, you know most gyms don't clean the equipment at all.nnThis gym fees are cheap, the place is clean, and there's a sufficient amount of equipment to hit everything you need. Plus it's the only game in town.
Everyone is very positive and so helpful. I appreciate the crew they got running the student center everyone always makes sure im doing okay very grateful for an amazing and positive community you guys rock
For the price this place is really good. Always clean, and has plenty of workout machines.
Typical small town gym. Friendly staff, nice pool and fitness classes. Though, I wish they would stop pressuring people to get out of the gym 30 minutes before closing by cleaning equipment just so they can go home sooner.
