Really great stop on road trip to run and stretch legs. Nice bathrooms and playground. Beautiful views and quick on and off to highway. Running trails that offer changing scenery. Be careful on trails on west side of park as they can be rough on ankles.
Day trip only. Website stated RV sites weren’t open until April, we visited March 16th and park was already half occupied. It’s not exactly a scenic lake, but we enjoyed the visit. Be aware there are now mandatory days use fees being enforced at all state parks. Pay at park office online or by text or risk a ticket. Lake appears to be infested with zebra muscles, so boaters beware.
Get to know about this place recently. We take a shot 3 weeks ago and the trip totally worth it. We get there evening (around 5:30) and spend about 2 hours. A good place to spend time with family and friends. They have different good spots around that reservoir. The beach area we spend, they have 2-3 huts you can stay in, kids can play with sand to build castle, it gives a good relaxation. Definitely will be back.
Reservations are required online or at the park office. We stayed at Sandy Beach Campground, one of five campgrounds around the lake. The park office is on the otherside of the lake from Sandy Beach making it difficult to get to if you are unfamiliar eith the area, as we were. There is no entrance to check in at, and we saw no camp hosts, except at Cedar Point. The site numbers are difficult to find. If there is electric it is on the boxes and difficult to see. Red sandy clay everywhere.nnSandy Beach CG, where we stayed, is nice, clean, and right on Foss Lake. Restrooms are clean, singles, showers are coin, no curtain or door. Some of the campgrounds around the lake have put toilets.
Beautiful well maintained campground we stayed at sandy beach in 40 ft Coach . We will be returning !!
