The Gamefather

They had pretty good inventory. My only issue was the guy working. I kept wanting to see stuff in the locked cases but had to find him every 30 seconds to do so. There were no other customers in the store.

I enjoy this store when they don't try to stick you... I drive from Tennessee to boone just for this store sometimes. Today I drove all the way over there for a PS2 game. GTA vice city... The lady working pulled out a copy of the game but didn't even have a case for the used game... She then proceeded to tell me that she wouldn't be able to take any less than $50 for the game!!!!!! Then said it's going for $70 on ebay! I looked myself and a factory sealed brand new Vice City game is $30!!! FACTORY SEALED!.... I'm very disappointed and I'm hoping to talk to someone who is more realistic and not trying to get someone on a bad sale.. I'm contacting a manager tomorrow to see if I can buy the game for what it's worth. And considering the game doesn't even have a case it's worth about $3.99 according to ebay.

This is a pretty cool place. They have a broad assortment of many geeky gift ideas. Vintage video games and peripherals, figurines (including Pop!), Magic the Gathering and Pokemon cards, protective sleeves, board games, dice, tokens, and rpg books. It's also the one remaining video game store left in town (to my knowledge). The people behind the counter are pretty nice, haven't had a bad experience yet. Worth checking out.

The gamefather is essential because to my knowledge it is the only videogames store in boone. And you won't find another one for miles. It helps that the store is awesome and is filled with retros and new games and accessories. It has everything you need

I absolutely love this store. It was devastating when gamestop(/ebgames?) stopped carrying games for systems made before the wii and the only other option had been flea markets or online... Enter... The. Game. Father. yaaasss please! Not only can I get my hands on mike Tyson punch out but my friends, I can also sell my Nintendo powerpad and duck hunt gun if I should choose to do so. Honestly, I would probably drive at least 60 miles to get this straight up old school service.
