Jackson Hinds Library System

The building stinks and you have to ask staff to access half the books for you because the upstairs has been closed for years due to ceiling leaks. The smell is probably due to mold from leaks as well as all of the homeless individuals who stay at the library all day. The staff is nice but the manager is rude. Ask the staff if you actually want assistance instead of someone just trying to rush you off, which is what the manager will do.

Quiet, well filled library with helpful staff and a great children's room. I spent a very enjoyable day there with my daughter. Also they have program brochures in Spanish and English.

What do yall see, seems like the past reviewers are blind. Homeless folk everywhere, every visit, I cant walk in or sit down without somebody asking for something plus they be just camping out til someone tells them to move along. I guess they trying to find a way out like everybody else. I'm so fed up with this city and state, so many hidden games.

The Eudora Welty Library as well as the 13 additional libraries in the Jackson Hinds Library System are staples of the communities they serve. The staff are friendly and always willing to assist. The Eudora Welty Library has an Autism Center that is making great strides helping individuals on the spectrum improve their communication and motor function skills. The Medgar Evers Library has a program for local teens to learn coding and robotics. The Jackson Hinds Library System maintains a vast collection of books in all 14 libraries along with eBooks, eAudio Books, and eMagazines. Every individual who spends time in any of the 14 locations will come to love and understand what a jewel this library system has become. #MyJHLS
