I used to ride the Katy Trail from the St. Charles riverfront as a kid. I always loved it! This is the 1st time I rode it from the Page bridge and it'sbeen over 25 years. It was my daughter and myself. There is a steep path leading down to the trail. It is 4 miles east to old town/Main Street with shops and dining. The further east you go the more dining there is including outdoor back decks which face the river. Some have better views than others. I have been told that there is some neat graffiti on the other side of these concrete pillars but we didn't venture through the rocks to take a look. I hear it's good artwork. I'm happy it's just on the 1 side. Anyway, this trail is a must do and if you're up for a big adventure it travels west 240 miles through Missouri mostly along the river and is the longest recreational trail in the country.

This was a great paved path for bikes and walker/runners. Very scenic. Pleasant and different choices of distance.

Great access to the Katy. A little hard to find.

OK, this should be known. While this is a great place to park to access the paved trails and the Katy, here is why its only getting 3 stars...nn1. When the weather turns nice, the car break-ins start. Not uncommon to come back to numerous vehicles with broken out windows. So, be smart and hide or don't bring anything of value and leave it in your car.n2. The lot is not regularly patrolled nor is it lighted.n3. There are no water or bathrooms. The closest public facilities are at the Heritage Museum or Frontier Park in St. Charles.nnI do use this to access the trails for running...i just want folks that may not use it regularly to know what to plan for.
