When my husband and I moved to Bolivar from central Illinois, I thought we would visit a number of churches to see where we might fit. We came first to Open Hearts United Methodist Church. As a lover of history, I was drawn to the historic building of the 1800s with its beautiful stained glass windows, but that's not what kept us here--it is the church family filled with love, compassion, and a commitment to social justice issues. During a recent family crisis, we found more love and support here than we ever imagined, from people we didn't even know before. If this is the kind of family you are looking for--come join us. You will find a wonderful family where all people are welcomed, loved, and cared for. And, yes, we do have an historic building with gorgeous stained glass.

I’ve been part of the church for most of my life and was baptized around ‘09-‘10. I have Autism, so it’s hard to find a place that accepts you for you, and they accept me for me, in more ways than one. I am proud to call these people my friends, non-blood family & fellow worshippers of Our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ! But if you don’t want to take my word for it, at least consider visiting for yourself! Just one service will bring you closer to The Great I Am. See you there!

I’ve been going to this church for 4 years and feel so loved and blessed to be a member. So many ministries to help built our commitment to Christ! I have felt the love as soon as entered the building and continue to this day ❤ufe0f❤ufe0f❤ufe0f

I have been attending Open Hearts United Methodist Church for less than a year and I love it!! It is a warm and friendly church with great people and lots of activity. Pastor David is a treasure and very caring along with his wife Beth. I am thankful to be a part of this wonderful church family.
