I started coming here about a year and a half ago when my son started braces. The work has been decent but I expect more. Customer service is lacking (rude), poor communication with patients (phone contact/answering and appointment reminders), limited flexibility with appointment scheduling. My final irritation was being charged a missed appointment fee during covid when they wouldn't even answer the phone during supposed work hours! Can't wait until my son's treatment is over...no way I would recommend this office to anyone!
I have been trying to call and make an appointment for a general visit for myself and family and it's ridiculous trying to get a hold of them. I've called for several times on various days and they either have an external company answering that takes my name and phone number and says someone will call me back OR I get there automated message service that says they are closed when they should open, because I call during business hours, and then when I try to leave a message it's like the voicemail box is full because it goes straight to asking if I would like to continue leaving a message or there are other options (and I get looped in that) and am unable to leave a message. If you can even get a hold of your dentist then it's time to start looking a new dentist
The staff was warm and welcoming. The made sure I understood everything that was going with my child. They also referred me to a really good pediatric dentist. This is a great dental office.nn****Update****nnWhen I left this dentist I was referred to a pediatric dentist and they were suppose to send my daughters pictures of her teeth over. They never did and they never answered the phone. The pediatric dentist had to take all those pictures over again. In my opinion they didn’t care and only did to run up my insurance.
I have been going here since I was a child. Doctor Hood has always been very attentive to my and my brothers' needs. If one of us ever showed any signs of pain during a filling or root canal, he was quick to offer pain reliever. The man -- I believe -- has a genuine interest in his patients. He has always asked me about what's going on in my life and often remembers what I have told him. Honestly, I've never had a bad experience with anyone in the entire office.
I am unsure why anyone would rate this dental office as poor. I have gone to Post Office Lake Dental for over 20 years. Dr Hood is the best. I have extreme anxiety when it comes to dental work. He is always kind and patient with me. The receptionist (Crystal) is matter of fact, but can offer the best conversation if you are open to it and she isn’t slammed. April 2nd is Easter Monday. If you have off to go to the dentist, then realize this is why their office is also closed.
