Regal Covington

I miss the old days when this place was around. They were a good theater that always created good experiences for people. Maybe one day things will get back to normal in our community, and this place can possibly open again. I would bring my younger brother Andrew here from time to time as he loved this place, and having Mr. Richard at the front to tear our tickets. He was a very nice man who they were lucky to have. He would even tell you where to go for your movie, and give you a little quick feedback about the movie.

Great.nI saw the movie Tenant. It was scheduled to shutdown all the movie houses this week.nI was the only paying customer in the 14 screen complex.nI went for the nostalgia.nMovies had been shuttered for months due to Chinese flu.nThey opened briefly.nThen were closing down.nI was glad to gave gone before the last of the dinosaur s died.nIt is a great memory.

We were regular customers and have enjoyed watching movies at Regal, but recently they have imposed assigned seats. What is this, second grade? Dumbest idea I’ve seen in a long time. Not only that, but the ticket line is much slower because they don’t have the proper setup for customers to choose their assigned seats. Setting up dual monitors on a computer system isn’t rocket science.

This place really deserves two stars but the staff's friendlyness is why I gave it 4 stars. I had such a wonderful quick conversation with the ticket taker. He is about 70 and has been working there for 11 years...I remember seeing him as a teenager. It brought back so many memories. He is such a sweet ud83dudc93. My issues were with cleanliness. We went to go see the new Sonic hedgehog movie. We were the first ones in the theater but it had never been cleaned. I actually had to put the cups that were left on the ground and had to move the nachos container that was in front of me. Then when my son took a sip of his mixed cherry and coke icey, he told me it tasted a little like wine....I took a sip, and yes it tasted like wine which means the sugar was fermenting which means machines aren't properly cleaned. Also, we use the skittle machine to get our own Skittle batch, and the wild berry flavors were stale. I truly hurt my teeth on them. I'm very disappointed because this location holds so many memories for me.

I guess I’m accustomed to better seating and service. They would do better replacing all the rude teenagers with Kiosks. Maybe then they could upgrade the seating and have better concession prices. The concession is crazy expensive even for a movie theatre. They don’t have any combo deals.
