We planned our visit here so that we could eat after we finished our tour and it was a great plan. Most/many of the food is Tabasco inspired from soups to sandwiches and more. We had Gumbo and a sampler. The red beans and rice was the favorite. The tables have a large collection of Tabasco products (including the Family Reserve) to taste/use with your meal. We had to taste almost every sauce with our meal. We really enjoyed tasting the sauces with lunch after going on the tour.

This is a convenient place to stop for a bite after the Visitor Center and tour. They offer very good local comfort food that should please anyone in the family. And of course you have a choice of many Tobasco sauces to season your food. We were looking for gluten free choices and had the Avery Island red beans and rice and the boiled shrimp salad. Both were very tasty. The back room of the restaurant has screens that open in nice weather.

Excellent food. The experience is somewhat diminished by the madhouse, cafeteria-line ordering and service and bizarre pairing of ceramic dishes and fast-food style plastic trays that don’t fit them.

Get the sampler and the boudin. Then plan on savoring the moment and flavor for a while. Can't wait to eat here again.
