Holiday Inn Express & Suites New Iberia-Avery Island

Where do i start? No maid service. If you needed TP in your room you had to go get it, same if you needed towels etc. The manager decided that browbeating the contractor supervisor in the middle of the lobby while he was in mid conversation with guests was okay. Downgraded our room type without even telling us until we arrived which caused major problems since they changed us from a suite to a regular room leaving no space for one person in our party. The air conditioner in both our rooms leaked leaving the carpet in half the room soaking wet and musty smelling. Everytime we left the room the air conditioner got turned off somehow so we came back in the evening to a hot, stuffy, musty smelling room that took an hour to cool back down. NEVER staying there again!

Super clean rooms. Desk clerk Brette and breakfast hostess this morning were very interactive with the guests. Great attitudes, great smiles.

Really nice and comfortable! Staff was excellent, fast, and always there when you need something.

The staff were very polite and helpful. The room was clean as expected, breakfast was provided. My only real complaint was that the water pressure of the shower was horrid.

The positives of this hotel are that the staff is super friendly. Check in was quick, and easy. My room looked generally clean but unfortunately just as I was about to fall asleep I noticed a bug on my pillow. I thought it was a small roach but after waking up with my right shoulder and arm covered in bites I realize that it was most likely a bed bug. Due to that reason I wouldn’t recommend staying in this hotel at all.
