This gallery is, in and of itself, an artwork. Brilliant, honestly. It’s like watching someone breathe life into a piece of history while flipping the expectations of a contemporary industry.

The restoration of an abandoned mansion into an art gallery? Uh, yea! I love this place. I can't wait to see it continually evolve. Its already really cool and I love the art there.

Derelict is is an all too encumbering way to describe The Chateau, but that doesn’t mean it’s life has come to an end. The abandonment this beautiful Victorian mansion has endured year after year is heart breaking, but this new life for the building has an exciting twist. Slowly churning behind the doors is a heartfelt restoration project aiming to restore some sense to the dilapidated space and maintain it as a creatives sanctuary. The ambition from the individuals maintaining The Chateau may seem strange but that ambition is not lacking. The future for this building is very uncertain, but has fallen into well intentioned hands.nOh, and Ralph is probably the best damn security guard I’ve ever met. Nothing is getting past him.

Here’s the secret: the chateau gallery IS a piece of art. This is an abandoned mansion, and I mean this in the realest sense of the word. But what happens when you take an abandoned mansion and put it into the hands of an independent artist with an affinity for the absurd? Magic, that’s what. You won’t find any snobbery here, but what you will find is an immersive and inherently avant-garde space, that will make you toss aside your pre-and-mis-conceptions of what a gallery is *supposed* to look like. Once you take in the space itself, there also just so happens to hang some pretty fantastic pieces of art on its mysterious and abandoned walls. Wonderfully peculiar and delightfully odd, you’ll be hard pressed to find this experience anywhere else. I can’t wait to watch this space and it’s continued evolution, and I’m grateful to have it in my neighborhood.
