I embrace and am grateful for the mission of the Jim-Ree African American Museum and look forward to learning more through our connection. Perhaps even more importantly, I appreciate and admire the passion and joy with which they pursue sharing that mission with all.

Jim-Ree Museum began with an annual Black History Month exhibit during February. We now program year round, including our rotating and permanent exhibits, Juneteenth Festival, Virtual 5K Run, Kwanzaa Celebration, and more.nnAll are welcome to visit our recently renovated home in the Historic Elbert County Jail.nnOur historians and storytellers are available by appointment for individual and group tours, consultations, workshops and presentations.

Interesting story behind the Museum location. Great place to learn about local history.nnCan't wait for the completion of the building rehab and opening of the historic county jail exhibit upstairs.
