Great walking trails with monuments and explanation of the battle that was fought

A beautiful park and setting. There are markers and artillery pieces clearly visible but if you choose to do some hiking you will see many more along trails and in the wooded areas around. Many times we got out to look at one marker, only to see more 20-30 yards distant that beckoned further exploration. My 19 year old daughter, who had only a vague interest in CW history prior to this visit wants us to do an entire tour now.

This is a wonderful place to visit. The battlefield is superbly marked for the tour and the stops have recordings that can be accessed via cell phone. The movie at the visitor center is well done and the visitorcenter, as a whole, does a great job relaying the history of that era. This place is a must for history buffs.nnWe have a duty to remember the many sacrifices for freedom and the these hallowed fields lend themselves well to that purpose.

We love coming here for the variety of trails and walking areas. There are miles of paved roads great for a run. And plenty of hiking opportunities off the roads. I recommend downloading the map if you plan on using the trails.nThe military aspect of the park is well labeled and they have a large museum and visitors center. The rangers we've met around the park have been helpful and friendly.

This is a wonderful place to visit, even for us locals! I even love to just drive through the battlefield about 4:30-5:00 pm and try to get pictures of the deer. It's a terrific place to spend the day.
