This was such a neat little spot. We got to see Micah (the blacksmith) at work. He was super friendly and informative. I have teenagers and they enjoyed walking around and catching newts. The cabins all have an interesting story to tell. I recommend this place!

Awesome place! A lot of history of the mountain region going back to the original owners of the land; the Indigenous tribes.nKudos to the legacy of the Foxfire students of the 60's and their efforts to preserve the history of the area and it's people. It was four+ hours well spent.

Really beautiful rustic buildings, hiking trails, historical facts, and a shockingly well developed mobile app with even more information. It was lots of fun climbing up to the peak and ringing the old chapel bell!nnThe on-site weavers and welders were very knowledgeable and passionate, happy to show you a little about their professions too.

Loved it! The outdoor living History was fabulous. Offering a glimpse into life of Appalachia. Easy to walk. Signage was clear and informative. Highly recommend.

Fantastic place! Love looking at the old cabins and barns, and how our ancestors lived 100+ years ago. It is a must see if you visit the area.
