Awesome school, they gave a really high standard for their students. They also gave an exemplary Cross Country program their team has won 12 state championships and made top 3 in the state for 20 years

I'm about to be a senior, and all in all this school is 'okay', its definitely not the best but its also not the worst. The restrooms can get really gross especially in the A100-A200 halls. The staff can be VERY strict about the rules that they have there and they're A LOT of annoying wannabe thugs and preppy kids that think they're better than everybody, but they're are still lots of good students that are neither of those things, and there's lots of good teachers. You just have to separate the good from the bad, and really there is NO school out there that is absolutely perfect, they're all gonna have flaws somewhere.

My sons attended Brookwood for all four years. One was in the special education class and graduated in 2017. I can say the Brookwood High School has the best special education classes there is in Gwinnett County as well as in Georgia. The other son graduated in 2016 and it's doing wonderful. I'm looking forward to my grandchildren attending Brookwood and having the same great experience.

I was in for a rude awakening when I reentered this school system (I had been gone for a year and a half). It seems that absence makes the heart grow fonder, because I never remembered the razor edge of a late policy or the staff with god complexes. If you are mere seconds late, you have to file a tardy pass and it doesn't matter HOW late you were, because it all counts the same. If you have the displeasure of being late to class, I suggest not going at all until the last 5 minutes and using the difference for some well deserved free time. Some of the teachers here, and every single employee with hall monitor duty, has some sort of NEED to reprimand any kid for the slightest infringement on any policy. I once stood up from a table to start walking to class and got reprimanded for not being seated in the time before first period. In the time it took me to stand up (but before I had the chance to start moving, mind you) a monitor swooped in to yell at me for not being at a table or heading to class. I won't even get started on the division of teachers and the gifted level they teach. Let's just say that the CP kids need just as good teachers as the AP and Gifted kids (and I'm saying that as someone in the more advanced classes). The state test scores may look good, but be warned, they put you through hell and back to get there. But don't get me wrong, all the preppy white kids (myself included) with mommy and daddy's financial support add a real air of racial and class acceptance.
