Douglas County Office

My husband and I went in to renew gun permits. We were greeted immediately and filled out paperwork. We were asked to step to another window and waited there a few minutes but no one came so original person came back and finished up. Went back to get pictures taken and we were done. Quick and easy, friendly service.

This has to be the worst court system in the United States of America! The government employees that work at this court house are openly racist, arrogant and disrespectful. I went in to get general information about an abandonment warrant and from the time I walked in, I wasn’t greeted with a smile, I wasn’t even acknowledged to say the least! Nancy one of the magistrate court employees that I dealt with came off very rude and nasty from the beginning and immediately began to be combative and disrespectful! While sitting and waiting for her supervisor Susan Conner she asked my name , after providing it to her thinking she was only asking to relay my message to Susan, she began to run my name without my acknowledgement and no probable cause with the intentions of trying to retaliate in hopes she could find something incriminating under my information ! Not aware of her unethical tactics I continued to sit in the chair patiently waiting. When all of a sudden I was approached by an officer with a sheet of paper, she asked me my name and began to sign the paperwork! I then asked what was her reason for asking my name and she immediately stated I was ask by Nancy and her fellow co workers to serve you with these court documents! I then became concerned because I know I have no pending legal issues and tried to get a glimpse of the documents which I’m still unclear what they were in reference to because she never served me only because I told her she was violating my rights, she hadn’t checked my ID to confirm I was indeed that person and explained that everything she was doing at that point was illegal and there are indeed several other people in the state of Georgia with my first and last name! There was also another employee that was initially in on everything and the person who ran the information for Nancy! Outraged by this time , I began to threaten them with my lawyer and making a complaint for discrimination they eventually backed off but arrogantly shouted “Get your lawyer”. Not only was my rights violated but I was humiliated in front of several people that were in the office at that time.

website/online says office closes at five but each individual service of the probate office has different hours.nWent to get my marriage license at 4:25 assuming I had 35 minutes to get a piece of paper and was told they stop doing it at 4:15. A sign as I was leaving said 4. If it closes at 5, it closes at 5.

Not very helpful during this time.

Customer service was very poor. Call to ask questions and they was very rude. The person I talk to on the phone said to me I have talked to you several times I'm going transfer you over to superior court very nasty. Need to make improvement on their customer service.
