I'm a student at greenwood in 7th grade. This school has very good academics and the teachers are really nice. They have great staff and the students are decent. There isn't really any bullying at all. The electives are really cool we have Spanish and sign language and band, TV production, step team, basketball, volleyball, track and cross country. And a lot More overall it's a really good school I would recommend it to anyone.

We recently moved down there to Lake Mary from Maine. The over all transition into the school was pretty seamless.nnI needed quite a bit of paperwork; however, that's normal. When moving from out of state you need to get your child's immunization records transferred to the state of Florida by going to the Department of Health. Go very early in the morning as it took us about 5 hours. The office opens at 8 a.m. and is by walk in only. We arrived at 7:30 a.m. and there was a line. You also might want to bring a lunch.nnThey tested my daughter's reading ability and placed her into a language arts class that they felt appropriate. I did receive a call from my daughter's prior school saying they never received a request for school records. After going to open house, I realized that her language arts class is below her abilities. Therefore, I need to contact the guidance councilor and have her schedule rearranged. I recommend making sure your child is in the right English class.nnThe school has various electives to pick from, grades are available online and the majority of the teachers seem to enjoy their job. Everyone is very professional and polite. The study body seems to like the school as well. Overall a great school so far; however, we're only two months into the first semester.

Nice clean school. Great location next to park and library so students can walk to library after school for extra study or research or hang at park with friends to unwind. Area is very safe and police are stationed durring afternoon hours at park and library for extra protection for school students

I enjoy GLMS if you don't get into any drama then you will be fine there. I also recommend joining a club or after school activity, usually you will hang with those people a lot. Like me I stick with the drama kids and were fine. The staff is great and polite. You may hear bad stuff about another teacher ( oh well it happens all the time) I also recommend joining the art elective I have Mr Shaffer for 2d art and I love his class we learn so much!!

Greenwood Lakes has been a wonderful school for my kids. We've been there for six years now and have seen many ups and downs, but overall my students have been very happy there. The teachers are phenomenal, and the morale has gotten a lot better recently. The band is fantastic, the coaches really care about the kids, and they are adding new electives every year. Some teachers and students won a $50,000 grant being used to create a genius lab in the learning center. The drama department and step team both win awards every year. The art department is now flourishing, too. My son learned so much in the forensics program that feeds into the high school, and two of the teachers spent their spring break last year taking kids on an overnight field trip. This school is up and coming!
