Came here on a Thursday morning and it got busy pretty quickly! The staff was great, they have a nice gift shop. We didn't go through the museum because we had to get back to our hotel but we did buy some cool stuff to support them, including a beautiful ring. The Mound was magical and felt like we stepped back in time just from simply looking at it.nI love everything Native American and will always support anything I can.
No one is ever here. Been here three times now and its never open. Probably a super awesome place. Sad that it's most likely been flipped three times by locals in the past. We should preserve indigenous peoples history better and be more responsible. Makes me wonder how much they give a damn about what's inside the museum let alone what's behind the scenes we never hear about.
I thought I was 1/8 Native American until 2 different DNA tests told me otherwise. One useless fact later.... this place is an unexpected delight in the middle of a concrete jungle. The artifacts have a distinct Incan vibe. The modern Freemason temple across the street from this historic temple indicates that there's more value to this location that is likely not fully understood by the average visitor. Hidden gem if you ask me. Be sure to support the site and locals through the gift shop.
Indian Temple Mound Museum is handicap accessible. Museum, walkway around the mound and the school house are wheelchair friendly. The museum has handicap bathroom. Senior and military discount available. Friendly and informative staff.
The Temple Mound has great staff and is very well organized. The visuals and artifacts inside are very interesting. Enjoyed this visit very much!
