The beatnik writers hung out here. What more needs said?nGreat poetry room upstairs, large beat writers section. Quirky little nooks and crannies to the place making it a surprise around every corner.nThe place has an amazing aura to it. If you're visiting Miami this place is a must see.
Bookstores are a vacation destination for my family. Libreri Mapou is in our top five. Excellent selection and great location. Perfect pit stop between a great Italian dinner and some nice dessert (Cafe Puccini or NAIA Gelato usually).
I'll go here before Borders any day. The prices of books are pretty much set when you buy in a store so I don't see the point of patronizing a giant chain when I could buy from this grand little shop in my area. I got a book for 6 bucks in the sidewalk sale a couple of weekends ago. Steal! Gotta love the journal and card selection too.
The solid bookstore is augmented by a small gift shop where you can find kitschy things to go with a book that you plan to give as a gift. I also love that you can find attractive journals and moleskin notebooks here. The only problem is how much money I tend to spend when I visit.
A great neighborhood bookstore. I can spend hours in there just wandering and looking for books. The staff is super friendly and the selection is great. I'm so glad I live around the corner from this place.
