Great service great food for locals & tourist. I’m visiting from out of town and I was looking for a place to spend my Saturday night. A lot of places couldn’t accommodate one person but they did here. I waited in my car (small waiting area) to stay warm and they called me when table was ready. Wait was estimated 30 min and I was seated in 20min. Food was excellent- I had the pot roast with asparagus and mashed potatoes. A home favorite. Very flavorful. My waiter was great and the service phenomenal. Even the owner stopped by to check in on a busy Saturday night. For someone who has done food service before, this was top notch!! Highly recommend.

We really enjoy this restaurant. It's 30 minutes away from us and an hour plus away from my brother and his wife. We meet there to visit with each other and catch up. The food has always been excellent. The service is also excellent. Had a couple new (for us) and interesting cocktails today. We all recommend Food for Thought. BTW, take time to read the writings on the walls.

Excellent food! Vegan choices were great! I tried the vegan cilantro lime chick'n with Jasmine mushroom rice and asparagus and it was terrific! I almost sent it back thinking they messed up and put real chicken on my plate! It was THAT good!nnMake sure to tell your wait staff you are vegan and they will bring you a special vegan appetizer type plate before your meal. The standard bread basket they bring out is not vegan. I was very impressed with what they brought me!

Excellent food. I was with a group of 4 and there was a lot of sharing plates. We all loved everything we ordered. I had the pot roast and it was great. The cornbread was great and reminded me of Sunday dinner at my grandmas. If ever in the area this is a must try.

Out of all the restaurants I've been to in Williamsburg, this one is definitely the most interesting.nnFood for thought has a very interesting and fun menu. I assumed it was going to be the standard American bistro. But it has so many different flavors and original ideas, it was hard to decide on.nnAnother great thing is how they have a good number of Vegan and vegetarian options. And they probably have the best grits in the state.nnThe only issue I had was that some of the food did lack a little flavor. My girlfriends pot roast was missing some seasoning and my spaghetti squash could have used more pesto. But overall it was a great experience.
