Jamestown Settlement

A great place to learn the beginnings of a great nation. Take time to slowly navigate through the indoor exhibits, the Indian village outside as well as the ships. It's a great look into the beginning of our nation. It's a place for children of all ages to be engaged. In the warmer months, the number of interactive characters and live exhibits will be more to enjoy. However, it was nice too when it was less crowded.

Spring is the perfect time to visit for the self guided outdoor walk in the park. The replicas of the ships are well maintained. Park staff here, native village and the Fort were very knowledgeable and clear in their presentation of colonial life. The Visitor Center has lovely indoor historic displays, artifacts and small theaters. A gift shop and dining area are also site.

Amazing living museum with hands on exploration! Learning at its best with interactive fun for all ages. Walk through colonial homes and ships that first arrived in 1607. See the Powhatan village with daily routines in action. Definitely a must see!

Wonderful experience. Knowledgeable attendants. We had a great time exploring the recreations. Please note this is not the same as historic Jamestown- that is federally run while Jamestown settlement is state run. They are both great to visit but you need separate tickets.

Great time. Enjoyed watching the movie. Enjoyed all of the exhibits. Loved seeing the ships. They had very nice scooters for my parents to use, but otherwise not a bad walk from site to site for most.
