The American Hotel Banquet Room

Went to a friends wedding there a view year's ago and recently had another visit - what a great venue! Staunton is a great little town and I still can't believe the value this place provides. Everything of similar size and quality in/around Charlottesville is 3x the cost.nnHeard they had some staffing issues a few years back, but the new woman running the operation locally was great and seemed on top of everything.nnI would definitely look to this venue for any event needs in the area.

Very poorly managed. Peter failed to get back to us multiple times. He responded weeks after we tried to plan things. The hotel failed to work things out to get refunds during the COVID-19 epidemic. We didn’t have any way to get things worked out for the venue and they failed to act in a mature way. If this place comes across in your mind I recommend to think twice and keep looking. If I could rate this experience a zero I would. Giving a one star is definitely gracious. Hopefully they get out of the COVID-19 financial spot as well! But acting in high maturity along the way sets you apart in the long haul!

The hall is a nice hostpric place, in good care, and the floors to be re-done. Met with Peter who was nice, answered my questions, although a bit rushed.

Don't let the name fool you. It's literally not a hotel at all. But only an out-of-towner would think that, I'm guessing. Great place though. So quaint. Impossible to park at.

What a beautiful venue for our daughter’s wedding! Our experience from start to finish was superb! Peter and his staff provided excellent service and not one time did we have to think about anything needing to be done once the event started... we could simply enjoy and know our guests were being taken care of! The American Hotel is definitely a gem in downtown Staunton.
