Wonderful place , being a stranger in town , I rode my bicycle down there and was welcomed wholeheartedly by the locals at the monument to the fallen confederate soldiers of Mathews County , never been treated nicer , confederate and union flags alike displayed proudly, if you ever have a chance , stop in at about dusky dark and pass a few words with the locals gathered around , guarantee you'll be glad you did

Really cool little town, I moved here on purpose 5 years ago. I like the slow pace and the fact its not commercialized.

Historic and charming. Lots of nice little shops and awesome locals. Don't be a stranger - come visit, shop, dine and explore.

Nice buildings. Saw Sally Tompkins' cottage here and her grave at Christ Church down the road.
