Historic Tuckahoe

Beautiful little hidden gem of a place. There isn't any signage (or none that I found) so you can only really find it if you're looking for it. I went on a Friday afternoon and there was literally no one else visiting but me. I didn't do a tour, since I was only in the area for the day and decided to drop by, but I would definitely suggest doing a tour of the house to add more to your visit since it's a pretty quick walk to see the grounds (can't take you more than an 30 min). They provide maps of the grounds at the parking area and it's free to walk around but they have a suggested donation amount of $5. Overall a very peaceful and beautiful place tucked away near the James River.

Lovely landscape and location. Perfect for events, family photos or a picnic!

I'm biased; my great nephew held his wedding and reception there. The food was excellent, and the drinks were plentiful. He and his fiance-now wife worked long and hard to throw a great celebration. Be careful of the rain; it gets muddy!
