In the spirit of full transparency, I’m going to be up front that my mother-in-law is the owner of this business; however, I will also say that we’ve been pushing her to do something like this for years. Her food is the best! We place regular orders now not because we want to support her in her business (well not JUST because of that), but because the food so amazing!

I was so pleased with the food we ordered. The flavor of the beef in the Carne Seco dish was so addicting. The food was fresh and plentiful and I am excited to try more of her food in the future!

My family had so much fun trying Peruvian food for the first time. Definitely going to be coming back for more!

This is my first review for Alpaca because I hope to leave many more. Let me just say that I absolutely love Peruvian food. After living in Paterson, NJ I have often sought for new places to experience this delicious cuisine. All in all I’ve eaten at 15 different Peruvian restaurants between NJ and UT, having frequented some more than others. I was introduced to Alpaca2go by a friend and immediately recognized the presentation as something that looked amazing, but would the tastes and textures match up? Well let me tell you, my first experience did not disappoint. Lomo Saltado is the absolute Gold Standard when it comes to Peruvian Dishes. If you can’t do this plate right than I’m not coming back for anything else on the menu. The tricky thing about doing Peruvian food in Utah is you have to be able to bring in enough clients on the regular to justify purchasing the freshest and best ingredients, and the patrons simply have to understand that good food takes time, sometimes a lot of time to make. I have seen these requirements lead to disaster and failure many times as the lack of both often leads to, what otherwise is great food, a drop in quality due to the financial restraints placed on the owners of these restaurants and poor reviews from impatient people. That’s why I’ve always had my go to Tamale, Pupusa, Arepa, Mangu, or Empanada Lady (a lady for each one). Alpaca2go has solved both requirements because it is all made to order with a pick up time to boot eliminating the need for a predictable amount of customers to keep ingredients fresh. As long as you plan ahead you will get fresh and timely food. Now I have my go to Lomo Saltado lady. This dish is difficult to do right. The meat can be hard and tuff, the papas soggy, and the rice bland and hard. The sauces can be too salty and the dish itself cold. The list goes on and to each his own, but This Lomo was PERFECT!!! The moment we pulled the meals to go out of the bag the aroma immediately set the mood. With the first bite I knew that this was the most tender Lomo I had ever had, no joke folks. If I hadn’t inhaled this meal in less than 5-minutes I may have even cried out of pure enjoyment. I will definitely be going back for seconds and and am excited to try what else is offered.
