I was referred here by gastroenterology when they were unsure of my diagnosis.nnMy diagnosis was unfortunately not a straightforward one from imaging alone. I appreciate that Dr Flam was willing to diagnose using critical thinking and the process of elimination, taking into account symptoms and other test results.nnNow being a few weeks post op, I am confident that the right call was made (Especially since inspection of organ tissues seems to confirm).nnPlease do understand that Dr Flam will not push you to go under the knife. Rather, he reviews the full situation with you, helps you weigh potential benefits and costs, makes certain you understand risks, ect.nnI very much appreciate the collaboration between departments. If medical staff does something, everyone else knows about it and gets the results. They all share notes and communicate. You can also directly message your doctors on their online system, and they respond FAST. I got to a resolution relatively quickly - because the departments really work together.nnI also appreciate that they are as accommodating as possible in scheduling. Dr Flam squeezed me in at my request, and this helped me save THOUSANDS by fully utilizing my insurance (just 7 days before my deductible reset). Very kind.

I was referred here after my gastroenterologist ran out of things to try for me, and I have never had a better experience with a doctor. Dr. Turza is the first doctor who really took the time to listen to what was going on and actually order some tests and try to get to the root cause. She didn't even have to keep helping me after that because it was determined that I don't need surgery and she referred me to UVA. However, UVA is extremely difficult to work with and unresponsive, so Dr. Turza continued helping me and ordering tests. I am grateful that doctors like this still exist after having so many bad experiences.

My Mom had to have surgery to remove cancer. Dr. Thompson is wonderful from first consultation to follow-up after surgery. Dr. Thompson was through, kind and patient. Highly pleased.

She will go to all lengths to help diagnose the issues you are having, along with providing you the best treatment plan/testing.
