This is an iconic and beautiful place to see any time, but in the right light it can be breathtaking. Last time we were staying in the campground right below the dam and I waited till close to sunset. I took my iPhone plus one of my oldest film cameras loaded with Fuji Velvia 50 slide film. These photos are very lightly edited and the colors are how the film rendered it.

An impressive bit of construction in its own right. The spillway helps to regulate the level of water in the Fort Peck Reservoir and downstream on the Missouri if need be.(Photo - Sept. 2019 )

It's a great place to visit. The view is amazing and just up the road is the Lewis and Clark trail.
