Portneuf Medical Center

On 10 April 2021 at 2100 hrs I had to take a friend in for a serious emergent, but not life threatening condition. From the minute we walked into the Emergency department I was exceptionally impressed with the level of care and professionalism exhibited by all staff members we interacted with. I wish I had taken down all of the names of everyone who helped, without exception everyone did a great job. Nurse Lyndee and Dr Anderson in particular were very attentive and helpful.

Great care and service. All employees make sure they provide excellent care. They are miles ahead in providing soothing care to make sure you are not stressed. Other larger hospitals in this state were much more stressful. I have had procedures there, I have stayed there and loved ones have stayed there. I've gotten into emergency with 5 minutes wait or less. This hospital is not huge, but the services it offers are varied and some are among the best offered anywhere. Never had to wait for nurses. Probably because of ISU's great nursing University next door.

**Update** I am changing my review from 1 to 4 stars after speaking with the billing office. They were willing to help us out and made the decision to pull the account back from collections. Our account had been placed there due to bills being sent to the wrong address. This review was only directed to the billing office and not the medical staff or care. The medical care/staff was fantastic and quick to see us.nAccount services here is a joke. Our son was seen here for a broken arm. This was an out of network visit as we were visiting from another state. We waited months for a bill but never received one. Finally one came but from a debt collector. I called Portneuf account services and they admitted they had the wrong billing address and would submit the account for review. Days later I was called back and told that their “main” system has the correct address and several attempts were made to contact us. We never received a bill, A phone call, or an email. I think after I gave their office the correct address they updated it and then claimed it never happened.

The night shift emergency room team is awesome!nThey got me right in and out.nThe doctor knew what he was talking about and was able to help me better than a previous emergency room I went to.nThe nurses were so kind and caring.nThey checked in on me and I could tell everyone was working as a team.nThe cleaning lady accidently walked in before I was out of the room and immediately apologized and left until I was ready. She was so professional and I appreciate her.

No one follows the same protocol as the next. The staff and nurses are rude and disrespectful. We had our child here and WILL never have another one here. It was horrible! They couldn't even take care of my wife properly. I have lived a lot of places and NEVER seen a hospital ran so poorly. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Good luck if you go there, you are going to need it.
