Same experience as most other people rude workers and completely unreliable service.
Quick in and out. Always professional.
It says most people that go to the post office in Shelby spend 15 minutes there. And only 10 minute parking on sign out front. Finding a place to park is terrible. And since my post office in Tiro is only a 4 hour office and our rural carrier now works out of Shelby. You have to drive to Shelby to pick up anything. And I agree with the person who posted about the poor rude customer service 100% Also with the person that was switching to FedEx. I use to work for the post office part time and it sure has gone DOWN hill since I worked there. They use to guarantee delivery next day service on first class mail. (except at Christmas) Now it's you'll get it whenever! And if you mailed something without the exact address correct it would be delivered. Now its return to sender address unknown!
Rude employees, incompetent Postmaster, unreliable service (2 outgoing letters missing in two consecutive months, and two Christmas seasons of 25-30 cards missing and never returned). The last time I was there, which I go out of my way to Ontario post office now, there was a man upset because the uncooperative employee told him his mail, which he revealed was a penalty he had to pay the IRS, was lost. What in the hell do they do at Shelby Post Office besides throw mail away? And if I don't have any incoming mail, I was told they don't have to stop to collect my mail. These employees at this location are very lazy and uncaring. I say lazy because I live on a quiet residential street and the mail carrier drives a jeep to each house to drop off the mail. I have lived in cities with population 2000 times more than Shelby and honestly have had no problems. I have tried complaining, but was redirected to Lynn, the postmaster who is just as worthless as her facility. I have tried to find a national number to find out what is going on, but am always redirected to Lynn who I have had problems with since 2015, and out of those problems, she has fixed not a single one. I could go on, but just BEWARE IF YOU CHOOSE THIS POST OFFICE!!!!!
I don't like dealing with this post office. The people at the counter are always unhappy, & act like everyone is bothering them, if they have to wait on you. The mailman is always putting the wrong mail in the boxes. I called with a complaint, & talked to Lynn. She was very rude, & defensive.
