[Updated review posted 2/2/2021]nJust returned from the Port Clinton, OH office of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. The horrible older woman I had previously encountered was not there. Instead, I dealt with 2 very pleasant and helpful younger women who happily and helpfully answered my questions regarding a new-to-me used automobile and got me started through the process. I'm happy to give the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (Port Clinton, OH), and specifically these two employees, a 5 star rating... Thank you!nn[Original review posted in 2020]nONE STAR REVIEW: The older woman who manages the office represents the worse negative stereotype of a state government employee. She couldn’t be less interested in serving customers. She is rude and abrupt. Questions appear to annoy her. On the flip side, the younger woman working in the office was friendly and helpful as she assisted other customers.

The Port Clinton BMV, with their knowledgeable and helpful staff, is an excellent place to get your plates, license, and other paperwork and registrations taken care of in a timely manner.

Went this morning early before the daily rush as everyone is still trying to catch up. Mary Ann was the lady i dealt with and she was great. Very professional and had me in and out as quickly as she could. I have always found the staff here to be very friendly and helpful. Keep up the good job.dealing with the public can be teying at best.

RUN FAR AWAY!! Go to sandusky or Clyde! Literally lied to my face, I felt robbed. Was told I was unable to get 45 day plates, so I had to purchase hard plates. Which was a considerable amount of money for me right now. Nothing but rude, nasty comments said not just to me but in front of the entire building!nExtremely unprofessional. As soon as I left I called Clyde & Sandusky BMV and they have never heard of not being able to buy 45 day plates! They told me they receive MANY complaints weekly about this specific location!nDon’t make the same mistake I did! Never going back! Also left a nice email for the Ohio Attorney General on behalf of the “made up” regulations/laws they tell several customers on a daily basis!

If you want to be spoken to with a condescending tone the go here. Don’t waste your time... go to Sandusky or Fremont where they treat you like a person and not a dummy. Mary Ann Snyder has been rude to me and everyone I have known that went there since I was a teenager. Now I think she doesn’t like people who are happy and smile. Don’t go here!
