I have boarded horses with Shannon Cessna for about 12 years and the care is first-rate with excellent turn-out. As a first-time horse owner, over the years I was happy to take not only riding lessons, but groundwork lessons, dressage theory lectures, and saddle-fitting clinics. She has taught me basic horse care principles, and is VERY attentive to the health and well-being of the horses in her care. My draft cross mare is a senior and requires a sharp eye to keep her in good health. I appreciate the skill and care that Erik and Shannon spend to keep her in great shape. When my daughter was young, Shannon was her first riding instructor and gave her a solid Classical Dressage foundation which stood her in good stead when she went off to college, competing in IDA & IHSA (English & Western). My daughter is currently working full-time in the horse industry, and I'm thankful that in addition to riding, Shannon got her off to a good start with horsemanship and being a compassionate rider.

I've ridden at Cessna Stables for almost 10 years. Shannon is extremely knowledgeable about all things horse related. She is patient and goes out of her way to explain not only the how of riding, but the why. She truly wants the best for both horse and rider. Everyone at the barn is friendly, encouraging and willing to help fellow riders. I highly recommend Cessna Stables to riders at any stage of their equestrian journey.

Best stable I could ever ask for! The owner is very knowledge and goes above and beyond every day to care for both my horse and I. They have truly become a second family to me and I couldn't be more grateful for the love and guidance every person at this barn has shown me over the years. This is the most helpful, kind, and supportive place to grow as a rider and in horsemanship overall. I recommend this place wholeheartedly!

I kept my horses in my backyard for 17 years and when I decided to start boarding, I was very worried because I felt nobody would take care of my horse like I did. But, boarding at Cessna Stables turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made regarding my horse. Erik and Shannon Cessna are not only knowledgeable, they go out of their way to make sure horses AND riders thrive. If they suspect something is not right with your horse they immediately contact you and offer support as well. I have taken lessons at many different barns, but the lessons here are more than just riding around while someone tells you what to correct. Shannon tells you why and explains cause and effect of your aids as well getting into biomechanics. Also, there is NO BARN DRAMA! It's such a positive atmosphere, just like it should be! I can't say enough good things about my experience there.
