Cheap Self Storage

So here I am making a bad review of a place, one that I actually used to recommend. Cheap self storage. I have rented there before and this time was there for about a year and a half. He never seems like he is friendly in anyway. He posts signs on his door of when available hours are yet he is not there during those hours. I gave him my card info once and told me the payment went through and a few weeks later I got a notice in the mail that he was putting his lock on it due to non payment. HE messed up the zip code part to my card and that's why it didn't go through but instead of notifying me he waited for it to delinquent. I just recently moved and we agreed to get rid of all storage. My boyfriend went there at night and loaded up the uhaul. While there a shelf broke into pieces and he left a mirror and some palettes. I called today to see when would be best to come by and get the things out and clean up so he would be there and to get my deposit back. He said he already threw it all away and rented my unit out because someone was needing one (3 to the left of me has been empty for months). So I called him today to tell him I'm done renting my storage unit and he already has it rented? What if I was moving things back in it? I'm kinda pissed because I wasn't trying to stick him with a messed up unit and trash and I really kinda wanted the deposit back. It is however cheap and secure since the guy lives on site.
