I adopted my best friend here in October 2010 (formerly known as Bones), and he's still the light of my life. Today, they took in a sweet puppy we found, and I feel completely confident that they'll find the best home for her.nnThanks for all you do! ♡

I was visiting my parents and a dog was roaming around their yard and their neighbors'. We gave the dog some food, noticed there was no collar and took him to the dog warden along with some cans of food from my dog (who had died recently). Whoa! The accusations were absurd! The woman said to me and others on the phone that the dog was mine! Really? With my PA license? They assumed that I had the food for the stray dog. I don't need to be treated like a criminal because my dog died! The woman even reiterated the charges I could face! I will never give them any donations again! Want to donate? DONATE TO ATHENS COUNTY. I volunteered there for four years and can vouch for them being a much better office!

Dedicated volunteers and employees who work hard to place the dogs who come into the shelter. They do a great job of taking care of the animals who come to them, both medically and physically. They work to learn each dogs personality so they can help to find the perfect forever home.

I have visited and adopted from many shelters over the years. This shelter stands out because they go so far above the norm in the care and attention given to the dogs. The staff and volunteers are so helpful and you can see how much they care.

Sadly I found a dog and was being accused it was mine. Thank God a friend stopped in and knew me. You need to be more respectable to people!
