Took lessons here for about 4 months, was a completely new pilot and put my trust into this company. After I had reached about 30 hours of what I thought to be good instruction, I had to take a break for a few months. I’ve since found a new instructor and I feel tricked by T&G. I have been robbed of my time and money, but unfortunately didn’t know this till I was $6,000 invested. Don’t make my same mistake. They run on a bare minimum/good enough system, which somebody who wants to be a safe/professional pilot will only be hurt by, due to the foundation being wrong, it’s hard to build knowledge and progress. The instructor I had was like 21 and you could tell was there to simply gain hours and money for himself as I had seen with other instructors at T&G. Also the planes are NOT well kept and again operate on a good enough based system which really makes a NEW pilot feel safe.(I’ve experienced too many mechanical issues to even begin to explain). I’ve had 3 solo flights with them and had failures due to poor upkeep which forced me to land 2/3 of the time. I must say that a solo can be scary, but when your communications fail which you need to have in order to navigate the airport correctly made for a very interesting experience on my first time ever flying a plane on my own. Although the company wasn’t a great benefit, the ability to fly out of Burke Lakefront had its benefits, the experience of a controlled tower and scenic location were a few of them but once again T&G was not a good company in my opinion to fly with. And again don’t waste thousands of dollars like I did you will be very frustrated in the end.

Great place to learn to fly on your own time!

All around great school. Instructors are way more efficient than schools near by.

I've been with T&G for nearly a year now. It is a family owned business that has a welcoming environment and a diverse fleet of aircraft. Larry has been my primary instructor but I have also flown with Corey, Andrew, and Mackenzie who are exemplary and very knowledgeable. The instructors aren't pushy and are willing to work at your individual pace. The planes are well maintained and serviced regularly. The range of aircraft is impressive. Whether you're a beginner like me or an advanced student, you'll find the aircraft you need at good rate hourly rate (wet). Scheduling is very simple and intuitive and I never have an issue getting in contact with my instructor when I have additional questions. Great Experience overall!

My first experience with T&G Flying Club was this spring when I went on their trip to Key West and Cuba! It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience a country with a great group of people at a very reasonable cost (because if you are exploring a new country, who better to go with than people who literally flew around the world?!). Both instructors and members of the club went as well as non-pilot friends. General Aviation flying is a truly wonderful experience. Aviation was always a love and interest of mine and from the start I noticed that both the instructors and the pilots they trained are calm, confident, and very knowledgeable about aviation. I had so many questions and everyone was more than happy to share their knowledge, and the club members let me sit up front in the right seat on the way back so I could learn even more first hand!nnWhen I found myself in Cleveland again this summer, I took my first flight lesson with Corey. He quickly assessed where I was, explained what we would be doing in the air and we took off! He explained all the maneuvers very clearly and took me through practical exercises to demonstrate the concepts in flight (What happens if you make a turn only using the rudder? What happens if you cut the engine?). His instruction was so good that I wound up controlling the plane for the whole lesson with Corey making adjustments only when necessary. It is still somewhat surreal when I recall that I flew and landed an airplane! Learning to fly with T&G allows you to learn serious skills in a friendly and unintimidating atmosphere. I can't wait to get back into the air!
