I grew up going to this church because it was the closest to my home growing up in the Nottingham area. The church has been there for over 200 years and exists to help the community. It has a long-standing reputation of supporting the local youth center and local park and members in the area. The sanctuary is built in the round instead of having a long aisle. Pastor Debbie once told me that this was because the long square sanctuaries were meant to focus on the sermon while the sanctuaries in the round were meant to focus on the congregation. I was one of the original members of the clowning/puppetry/sign language youth group Cleveland Praise Ministries that was there from the 80's into the 2000's with Ralph Arendt as a youth leader of unparallelled caliber. My body may not be sitting in one of those curved pews on a regular basis but Nottingham United Methodist Church will always have part of my heart.
