Look no further - Utah Valley Granite is what you've been searching for. Our backstory: My spouse and I shopped all over Utah and Salt Lake county for the perfect countertop for our 14 foot island. The trendy thing in Utah seems to be "quartz" countertops. After doing some research we learned that quartz is actually a form of "engineered stone" made from ground-up particles of stone and then bound together with space-age plastic resins. Yikes! Every shop we entered that sells quartz smelled like plastic. I don't want that in my home. But then we found Utah Valley Granite... Walter took care of us from the beginning. Just do yourself a favor and go to their yard and walk around and see their selection. They sell the best and most beautiful stone you are going to find anywhere, and believe me - I've looked. We chose a gorgeous white Quartzite which is a pure natural stone (unlike quartz). Walter takes incredible pride in doing bookmatched countertops when you have a big project and the results are phenomenal. The quality of their stone and the price does not compare with anywhere I've been. If you want a plastic composite countertop in your house, sure, get quartz and wonder what space age plastic is getting into your atmosphere. But if you want to wake up every morning and see the sun shining on that natural stone...if you like to start off your day on the right foot every day with high class and quality staring you in the face, then you'll want Utah Valley Granite.

So..honestly I had to edit this review. The day of, they did a phenomenal job. Walter was really great most of the time. We put the pressure on them to finish it quick and they did! Super fast, flawless granite, unbeatable price and Antonio who installed did a phenomenal job. Then banks were closed for holiday and I couldn’t get him the cash (even tho I had a check) he demanded when he demanded it. He the berated me on the phone, dropping the “F” word at me and tell me to “Go F myself”. This is all less than 24 hours after his job was done and he wasn’t understanding at all. It’s sad how everything went down cause they did a great job. They would do even better if Walter wasn’t the owner or if he knew how to act like a respectful person. Would I still use them? I think so. Just be cautious and have cash.

Horrible communication! We worked with Nick. I he said he was the owner and he would take care of us. We were promised 2 days after template. He lost the quartz we were quoted a price on so we chose a different one. We asked them to call us and tell us if the price was different before they cut it. Then we got a call 1 week after template telling us that it was ready to install. He charged us more than what he quoted us because it was "nicer" than the one he promised us then sold out from under us. He screamed at my wife and accused her of dishonesty because we wanted to know why he was charging us more. He promised that we would not pay for the sink, then charged us for the sink. When I asked for an explanation of his invoice, he said he was disgusted by us and would not waste one more word on us. I would never recommend working with Nick. His laborers were great, but Nick was dishonest and extremely unprofessional.

Walt was awful to work with. He promises the world and then lies and threatens to sue you. Don’t pay him until your work is done correctly. We have white granite and it was installed with yellow caulk. He also used two different types of granite. They literally DO NOT MATCH! It looks horrible! Walt admitted that it needed to be fixed and would come to fix it. We kept asking when he could come repair it and he just kept saying he was really busy. Finally, he threatened to sue us if we didn’t leave him alone and said we were slandering his name. We tried small claims court but since we didn’t have an official contract there wasn’t much we could do. The cherry on top was when we found out he didn’t have a business license. Avoid him! The prices seem good but it’s not worth it!

UVG was great -- we had looked at so many other places - they gave us a clip board and told us to go walk and write down the numbers we liked. With Walter - he walked with us and explained the benefits of each type of stone...We defiantly will go back ! Thanks Walter for all the help.
