This library was great before the pandemic. It felt welcoming with plenty of space to roam 7 floors. Now this library is less spacious with only 2 floors, no coffee shop and you having to consistently where a face covering even if you're more than 6 feet away from someone. Very disappointing in how they have handling things over this past year.

One of the most inviting and scholarly spaces to enable learning. Well staffed with an amazing group of librarians that enable students and faculty to realize their goals and abilities. Growth and insight are at the center of their mission . They serve the interest of the student and the state of Ohio. The graduates of Ohio U. and all universities, colleges, and technical schools are the fuel for our future. As an alum, and past employee I am grateful for the support and insight I gained with my time with such a solid institution. Please take time to visit.

Great library with resources for community members as well as OU students and faculty. Lots of computers and inexpensive printing. Helpful staff ate readily available on every floor.

If study life had a name, it would have been Alden Library! From an academic-life-perspective, Alden is the best thing about Ohio University and Athens in general. Spread over multiple storeys, Alden used to be my haunt when I was in grad school. Want to study? Get some work done? Research? Pull your group together to meet that deadline? Finals week? Or, just socialize and meet great people? Looking to run into some international students for cultural exchange? Man, Alden can do all this and more for you.nnIt has so many levels - Each level has it's own vibe. I loved the practicality and the sheer energy of 2nd and 4th. Some people prefer the warmer 3rd. Some the peace and quiet of the 6th. You sort of have to find your own zone and what works for you. Alden's got a little something for everyone.nnVery helpful staff. You can book study rooms for group work. Free wifi. Cheap printing. A great cafe on the 2nd floor. During mid-terms and finals, you can literally spend the whole night here. Also, very convenient transportation - including late at night. At least three of four bus stops nearby. Just Google them.nnAlden, you're awesome!

A great library. They're always working on making it more student and user-centered, and the librarians / specialists are incredibly helpful. There is definitely some backlogged maintenance they need to work on, but they are getting there. Overall a great spot to work!
