Really nice campus! Great education in northeast KY!

Small Christian school that concentrates on helping students succeed and achieve. 90% of students are athletes, with avg size of 11 students in class.

The perfect school if you are looking for a small Christian university, but it isn't perfect for everyone. The facilities are nothing special, but the people are. Anyone who wants to have a unique, Christ-centered college career will fit in perfectly. Those looking to let loose and have a crazy time probably won't enjoy it here.

I attended this school from 2005-2010. Most of the professors were kind and well intentioned educators who took an active role in the lives of their students. Sadly, many of these people have retired. This university is in the middle of no where. If you live in Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, or Tennessee, you may enjoy attending school here. If you are outside of this geographic area, you may struggle to fit in and find things to do, as Grayson, the city the school is in, is a glorified truck stop. I graduated with $35,000 dollars in debt and want to strongly encourage any student to consider how much debt you may leave with at the end of a four year degree. This was after the GI Bill and a few thousand dollars of payments each semester. I think it is deplorable that KCU straps ministry students with this kind of debt. If you happen to marry someone from the university, like myself, you will most likely marry someone else with an exorbitant amount of debt. Please think through the ramifications of signing up for this debt and how it will impact your life, ministry, and personal finances. It is possible to serve God and attend another Christian school without incurring this kind of debt. Liberty University is a strong Christian school and they are growing. Ultimately, KCU was a great place for me. The best decision I have ever made, outside of following Christ, was marrying my wife. This school provided me with an opportunity to meet her. In hindsight, I would do it all over again. Pros: one on one with professors, solid Christian education, and the opportunity to practice ministry. Cons: small campus, leave with thousands in debt (think 35,000), meal quality, and lousy living accommodations for on campus students. Best of luck to you in your search and God bless.
