Royal Farms

This new convenience store/gas station is famous for it’s fried chicken. Store is clean and organized and the staff is friendly, helpful and work efficiently both in the store as well as at the gas station. There is limited seating/tables (with an umbrella) outside the store and there is plenty of parking provided. Typical convenience store products and there are touch screen ordering stations at the counter for ordering takeout food. I decided to order a fried chicken meal to see what people are talking about. Be careful when ordering on the screen because there appears to be a lot of up selling going on before it allows you to get to the end of your order. The chicken was flavorful but very salty and kinda dry, the biscuit was dry and crunchy as if it had been sitting out for a while and the macaroni & cheese side order was passable, although it tasted like the stove top prepared brand in the blue box. Lastly, the strong aroma of smoky fried chicken grease lingers in the air (perhaps they need an upgraded ventilation system?), so you will probably leave the store with that smell in your hair and clothing.

I have been going to Royal Farms for years when I visit family in MD. I am so happy that there is finally 1 near me in Manville! I purchased some chicken on 7/09/2020 & it was just like I was in MD! The employees at this location will probably know me on a 1st name basis because I will be a regular! We need more locations in Northern NJ!

brand new, very clean, very friendly and awesome chicken, way better than Popeyes chicken across the street

Went there for the first time today.nnThe store looks pretty big from the outside, but it's pretty tiny and cramped from the inside. Although it looks bigger outside, the inside is smaller than the Quick Chek across the street.At least it's cleaner (for now)!nnI tried a chicken sandwich, which was pretty tasty, but in my opinion, not as good as the Popeyes right across the street. I also tried a cheeseburger, which left a lot to be desired, especially given the price!! Next time I'll try the regular fried chicken and sides. For now, it's not my favorite place around.

Very dry chicken, wedges and biscuit. Everything was over salted and disgusting. Even the biscuit was dry and hard. It didn't taste good either. I would not come back here.
