Middletown Township Municipal Building

We got married by the mayor. It was a lovely ceremony and Tiffany in the clerks office and Laura in the mayors office were fantastic and efficient.

The worst...my son received a ticket for failure to show insurance card (we had valid insurance but I forgot to put new card in glove box). He was asked for insurance & registration because the officer who apparently had been behind him saw my son pull over in a neighborhood to turn the headlights on in my car which had just had an oil change & the dealership changed the settings on it (it was late afternoon and just getting dark)...The officer who issued the ticket told my son if he appeared in court and showed valid insurance card then he would only have to pay court fees...nope! Instead he waited two hours only to be fined the full amount plus charged court fees. He tried to explain the situation but the Prosecutor and the Judge ignored the fact the officer told him to appear in court and he would only have to pay the court fees. My son was basically tricked into going to court and having to pay the fine plus the fees. I would have just paid the fine had the officer not given him misinformation. Of course, I have tried calling & complaining but it is impossible to get anyone's email or phone number to discuss. I realize I won't get my $190 refunded but I just want someone to know how wrong this is. My advice just pay the fine at least you won't have to pay the fees and deal with the court.
