Ocean Grove Fire Department

Great response to the Dunes pavilion over the weekend. Saw them there at the beginning of the fire and couldn’t squelch it? At least they arrived at the start of it compared to last years abandoned Victorian house along the lake ... hour went by before on the scene (see YouTube videos). Apparently traversing those couple of blocks is a greater task than I understand.

These people work hard to care for their town on a purely volunteer basis. I had the privilege of being a member when I lived there. The gentleman with the highly critical review obviously haso no understanding of the challenges in stopping a fire in a connected strip of stores or old, renovated Victorian buildings.nThe houses and stores that they fight to protect are their own, their neighbors, and the places they shop and eat.

Walking my two dogs halfway across the crosswalk when I had to yank them back because one of these idiots decided to go 35 mph down Broadway and not yield at the crosswalk. He didn't seem too bright, but then again they did let a few business' burn to the ground so you can't expect much.
