I purchased flight lesson tickets for 2 as a surprise anniversary gift for my boyfriend with no intention of getting on the air craft. When we arrived Chloe the instructor was already there on time and waiting for us. She was very welcoming and extremely excited to give us the lesson. Chloe walked us to the aircraft and began to give us a detailed description on each part, the mechanics and how to properly check for malfunctions. The amount of Chloe’s enthusiasm and knowledge displayed during the instruction helped me consider getting on the air craft. As she continued on with the lesson I was convinced that she knew what she was doing and that I would be safe. When we entered the aircraft she sensed my apprehension and reassured me that everything was going to be great and that we will have fun. While we were waiting to depart she pointed to the aircraft before us and proudly told us that her student was in there taking his test and that she was so excited for him which reinforced my level of comfort and trust I felt from her. Chloe took off and it was smooth, while in the air she gave total control to my boyfriend and guided him through the entire process, effectively communicating instructions calmly while my heart was at my throat. After a few minutes and lots of laughs with Chloe, I was able to look out at the view and take in what I was seeing and I realized what an experience it was being in an airplane that my boyfriend was flying. Soon after Chloe took control again and landed the airplane smoother than the takeoff. After landing, I felt kind of disappointed that I chickened out of flying the airplane myself but I was so appreciative of the fact that I was able to experience the flight. I know if it weren’t for Chloe I wouldn’t have gone on the airplane at all. Chloe was amazing ,she loves what she does and it showed from the moment we met at the parking lot to when we left the airplane. I highly recommend! This was an unforgettable experience!

I went there to get my flight review. The owner was very professional. I haven't flown in 3 years. The flight instructor Giulio was very patient and calm. He has very good communication skills and highly recommend him. I flew the Beachcraft skipper plane they have, it's a nice little plane. I find it easier to fly then the Cessna 172. There prices are also reasonable.

This flight school is amazing in their knowledge and know how when it come to flying. I was very fortunate to have Ray as my instructor and it has been a very informative and enjoyable to fly with him. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn how to fly.

I had a wonderful experience with Ray (Essex owner) and Ahmad (my instructor) at Essex Air! Excellent communication and accommodating my wild schedule. This was a professional, methodical and engaging pre-flight and flight experience. It was Covid-safe (masks/gloves) in a Piper Warrior, and Ahmad engaged very well and conveyed plenty of interesting detail about the aircraft, takeoff, flying headings, landing, parking, etc. Got a couple of hours of instruction and flight and enjoyed every minute.
