West Caldwell Public Library

This library withdrew from the local interlibrary loan consortium in July. Unless you live here, you can't borrow library books from this branch without paying several hundred dollars in annual fees. This is true even if you have a library card from a nearby library and live in the general area.nnMeanwhile, West Caldwell residents are apparently allowed to borrow books from other libraries without having to pay extra. This is a very petty policy with great contempt for residents in nearby towns.nnAlso, rude and nasty people at the front desk. They aren't nice or welcoming.

I have been going to the library since I first moved here 3 years ago.nSamantha, the Director was so welcoming and worked with me on my computer to help me establish on line capabilities. Barbara and Dona are always curteous and extremely profesional. It is always a pleasure to walk into the library and the entire staff is more than willing to help. This is a credit to Samantha and the staff. I read a few complaints from people I doubt would spend 30 minutes behind that counter. If you want a smile.....smile first! Thanks for the great service.

Absolutely wonderful staff and always willing to help. They get to know the patrons, and the front desk attendees are always willing to hold a conversation and get to know you. They are quick, efficient and nice to everyone. Library has a wonderful selection of books, movies and have great events for kids each week. Never had a bad experience here and will keep coming back.

I recently ventured over to the West Caldwell Library to see what they had to offer. I happened to come in while the Library Director was at the front desk and had a delightful conversation with her regarding many of the different programs that are available to the patrons of the library and residents of the area. What I also found fascinating was the BCCLS (I think I got that right) which allows you to share books through other libraries in that catalog system if the West Caldwell Library does not have it on hand. Ms.McCoy also introduced me to a few of the library staff who helped me out with other additional questions I came up with while there. I found the facility to be nicely updated compared to the last library I went to and easy to navigate between sections.

Great place to buy used books as well as renting new. Kind helpful people
