I live approx 1/4 mile from Furman fire station, and everytime the horn goes off at night it wakes up my kids, it scares our whole family during the day, and it's insanely loud. Now days with smartphones, pagers and all other technology, one would ask why does this horn even exist? I wish they would lower the volume during day time to a reasonable DBA and shut it off at night.
SVFD did a great job of controlling a fire in a gas station the other day.
I just passed Chestnut St and the loud Horn from the fire station scared the hell out of me, i almost got a Heart attack, This is insane, turn off the god damn horn, it's the 21st century we have smartphones & radio technology.
