Dr. Shuman has been my primary care doctor for the last 4 or 5 years. I now live in Portsmouth and even though I’m right down the road from another doctor’s office, I can’t get myself to leave the Durham Health Center because of how great Dr. Shuman and his staff are. Dr. Shuman is by far the most genuine and caring PCP I’ve ever had. He takes the time to ask the right questions about the issues I’m having. He’s extremely knowledgeable on a variety of topics and does a great job at explaining what he means when he speaks.nnThe staff at DHC are very organized.I’ve never had an issue calling in prescriptions to the pharmacy and I always get reminder calls/texts for any appointments that I set. The waiting times are typically 4-5 minutes, but every once in a while will be a little longer if Dr. Shuman is running late with his appointments.nnThe number 1 reason that I’ve chosen to stay with Durham Health Center is because Dr. Shuman is a doctor that actually cares about the well being of his patients, he’s not just there to “go through the motions” like many other primary care doctors I’ve had in the past. It’s why I don’t mind if I’m in the waiting room for longer than normal; I know it’s because he is taking his time with his patients and I’m happy to wait because I know I’ll be getting the same level of treatment.

Your front office needs to be replaced or get it together. Never had such bad communication or pure laziness with a doctors front office.
