Conway Public Library

Always a pleasure to drop by and loot the library shelves and strain my back carrying the books away. Tara is always fun to chat with and always has the best recommendations.

I have always felt that this is a wonderful Library and staff but through these last few months with Corvid-19 you have been a staple in my life and I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so kind and helpful.

Beautiful building, great staff, excellent place to get some writing and research done. This library is a critical part of the Conway area community, keep up the great work.

On the good side they have multiple tables for people who need them to work at. They have desks which are private cubicles.nThere are multiple living room type chairs along the sides of the rooms.nThey have three public bathrooms and an expansive children's room.nThey have a magazine room and multiple public computers.nThey also have a meeting room with new pictures on the wall every month.nThey have a history room where you can get newspaper reports dating back into antiquity.nnUnlike some other libraries, it's set up to make visitors comfortable.nnIt isn't one of those places where visitors are treated like a nuisance and a bother.nnIt's a good place for children because of their children's room and because visitors are not denied the right to use the bathroom.nnOn the downside, I went there a short time ago to work on a school assignment. I was humiliated when I went to upload my work onto my email and found that their computer would not let me do this.nnI am no stranger to uploading documents and other files onto the web or onto my email.nnThis operating system they have made uploading extremely difficult.nnOne of the librarians had to come show me how to do it and it was a long complicated process.nnWhen I tried to upload a second document by myself, I did it the same way I was shown and this was only to be abused again by the operating system of the computer.nnI sat there for an extended period of time, not wanting to bother anyone, then finally got help from another librarian who also had an extremely difficult time uploading my work.nnThey also had all the computers suddenly shut down while I was working and my work was lost. This happened even though I kept on pressing SAVE every minute or so.nnThe temporary shut down resulted in my having to remember all the work I did and re-do it.nnUntil I got help from the staff, I was looking at the possibility of more than an hour of wasted time on an assignment that I could not even upload to my email.nnI do thank the library staff who always helps me when I have problems on their computer.nnI also thank them for being concerned enough about their visitors to get a new operating system that is probably not as prone to get viruses as some other public computers. This is more than I can say for some public libraries.nnI do think public computers should have an operating system that does not abuse and humiliate their users with complicated processes that makes them look like idiots. I'm sorry but this type of thing just does not belong in a public place where it has the possibility of humiliating it's users.nnOther than that, this library is a wonderful place for a road break.
