Have to say that I've always been treated well here at the Scottsbluff Public Library. Obtaining a library card through the decades of my intermittent residency here has always been a piece of cake seeing I always have my freshly-signed rental lease with me plus other ID to show it's really me. The library has a fine eclectic range of books and works just as any respectable library will, and the architecture of the building is easy on the eyes as well as quite functional. WIFI/Wireless signal for those bring in their own laptop computers is strong and pretty fast, hooking up to the signal is a breeze.nnOne occasionally confounding thing about this library's staffing though (and this is something I've noticed in several other panhandle communities with overall decent libraries) is that too often a librarian seems to forget they're working in a library where respectful quiet is the tradition, enjoying rather loud conversations with a patron. Am just not getting this, as in all my travels around this great nation (all but 3 states) I've never experienced this in any of their libraries. Annoying for sure, at times even outright disrespectful, though this doesn't diminish my overall admiration for this library all that much. Good place with much to offer the community.

We are so fortunate, in our community, to have such an amazingly beautiful, well stocked and staffed library. During these challenging times, it is comforting and reassuring, to have, at our fingertips, the answers to any questions we may have in books and more. In January of 2021, let's hope, we will again have a leader, who reads, values science and supports our libraries?

Beautiful city library renovated in 2011. Library cards are free with ID. You don't need to live in Scottsbluff to get one. Book drop is located on in back of building by receiving dock. Computer use is free with a library card or $2 for an all day guest pass. Wednesday and Saturdays are fine free. Faxing is $1 per page. Free Notary service. Free scanning service. Prints are 15 cents black and white and 50 cents for color. Free study rooms and WIFI. Great adult reading program and outstanding children's programs. Be sure to check it out when you're in town.
