I've always heard of people having the best experience at OCC. Mine isn't at all what I'd hoped for. Biology and photography are by far the worst classes I've taken. My biology professor is inadequate to say the least in her teaching abilities, (we are down to 3 students in our class due to the negative feelings toward her). My photography professor recommended a camera shop to us that I visited. The owners said they knew him and that he didnt know a thing about photography. They told me if I wanted to learn, to drop the class and teach myself. They were right. For an intro class he taught me nothing about using a camera, but judged me on how to use one.

Go to any other campus. Most staff are rude here. Counseling is a joke even worse now that its remote they never answered the phone before I don't know why I expected any different now. I wish this wasn't my home campus for any concern I have I always call a different location!! I wish these people took their job as serious as I take my future.

Christopher Meller, is an outstanding person. He works very hard and makes sure all students are on track and ready for school at occ. Meller made sure I was registered and ready for school by Monday which is great and I’m very thankful to have him one call away. I highly suggest highland lakes campus they care about each and every student.

Hate to give such a negative review for such an affordable school but the staff here really need to step their game up. I've worked for a university and know how students should be treated - prospective and enrolled alike. It is such a hassle trying to enroll here if you're not in person. Staff will throw you all over the place from office to office for games of phone tag and may not even answer or call you back. My boyfriend, a veteran, initiated the process to get enrolled beginning at the end of last year, inquired for help several times, and still has not been able to enroll in classes. There was an office we called asking for help and we were met with condescending instructions and transferred to another office without warning, with which we were met with a voicemail and never received a call back. Very disappointing.
